Sunshine for every taste
Arizona is a wonderful escape for sunshine, and not just for retired snowbirds. There are big cities, plenty of resorts and golf and natural wonders for hiking and viewing. I've been there quite a bit over the years to enjoy a football game (including the Super Bowl), see friends attending college there, visit national parks and just a weekend break for the weather. There is no shortage of things to do and Arizona makes for a perfect weekend getaway, week long family trip or a long term stay.

A nice two day retreat to slow down, window shop and take in leisure activities
Tucson
As far as the two major cities, I find it a bit more interesting as it is away from the big city and more of a large college town with mountain views.
