Explore mountains and an alive metropolis

Sometimes you travel to a place by accident or without intention. This was my story with Santiago, Chile. By chance, my trip to Antarctica had a starting place in Santiago and I went a couple days early in order to explore before joining the charter the ship. I didn't have any particular desire to have seen Santiago, but did enjoy it for a few days. While I wouldn't spend much more time there or perhaps never intentionally return, I would explore more of the country.
