ROAD

South Africa is one of the most memorable and favorite places I've experienced. It's not the easiest place to get to from the United States, but it is a good place to go if you want to experience Africa for the first time and see a lot of variety with many of the modern conveniences and city offerings you might be used to.

 

I had the good fortune to spend considerable time in South Africa in 2007 as part of a short term living situation, which allowed me to settle in and experience the area at a deeper level than a general tourist. As a result, Cape Town became very familiar and there are lots of tips and tricks to share. Krugar was a side trip from Cape Town that involved a flight and drive. I also visited Johannesburg but not for long enough to give any fair description.
